Clogged Gutters

fall-leavesClear gutters of debris and check them for corrosion, joint separation, and loose fasteners. Flush out downspouts and unclog leader pipes. Leaders should extend at least 5 feet to direct water away from the foundation.

This is a huge issue in the late fall when all the leaves have fallen off the trees – stubborn oaks, but it will be raining more. Often times, this is one of the largest reasons water gets into the basements!

I had some underground pipes that were clogged.  I ran a plumber’s snake into the pipes to clean them. You never know what you can find!
